About Me

I am a recent PhD in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota with a Computer Science background, 6 years of industry experience. I am interested in computation and data intensive problems. Since 2009 I have worked at Adventium labs as a research scientist on computer security and planning problems. My mathematical research is in the field of geometric combinatorics.

I grew up in Saint Paul, MN and went to Michigan Tech for college where I studied abroad at Penn State and in Moscow. In my free time I enjoy running and cross-country skiing, particularly the very long distance events such as Superior (The picture on the right is mile 45 of my first 100 mile race). I ski for the Vakava race team supported by Finn Sisu and occasionally post race reports to the Vakava team blog. I am a year round bike commuter and have proudly pedaled my way through 10 Minnesota winters.
